NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – November 26, 2008 – Since Lauren Noir’s inception, they have been committed to eliminating animal testing altogether and today proudly announces their entire product line is certified Leaping Bunny™ - Cruelty Free by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics' (CCIC) compliance standard. The CCIC cruelty-free standard is the only internationally recognized standard, guaranteeing consumers that no animal tests are used in the development/production of any product carrying the Logo as of a fixed cut-off date. The Logo can be seen on packaging, advertising, and point-of-sale purchases for cosmetics and household products around the world.
Many non-compliant companies advocate "not tested on animals" or "cruelty-free" claims and icons without regulated compliance, third-part audits and the assurances offered by certification through CCIC, which is one of the reasons Lauren Noir preferred their certification to others.
About Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics
By 1996, “cruelty-free” shopping had become popular, but it was also confusing, sometimes misleading, and ultimately frustrating. Companies had begun designing their own bunny logos, abiding by their own definition of “cruelty-free” or “animal friendly” without the participation of animal protection groups. In response, eight national animal protection groups banded together to form the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). CCIC’s Leaping Bunny Program, is the only internationally recognized cruelty-free compliance standard, assuring consumers that the company, its laboratories, and/or suppliers use no animal testing in any phase of product development. CCIC promotes a single comprehensive standard and an internationally recognized Leaping Bunny Logo.
